It’s a powerful anthology bringing together the voices of 200 women writers of African descent from across the world. \nThere won’t be a book club meeting in July as we’re taking a short summer break\, but we’ll be back in August as usual.

DESCRIPTION:A friendly workshop making objects using surplus wool collected from farms in the North West of England. Spinning\, felting and bookbinding!\n\n\nWavy Wool Club is back on 24th September at Altogether Otherwise. \n \nWavy Wool Club is an open\, free-to-join space that connects farmers and creatives through wool. We gather every other Wednesday at Altogether Otherwise to spin\, felt\, card\, and work with fleece that would otherwise go to waste. It’s a place to relax\, learn new skills\, and share stories about farming\, craft\, and the environment. \n \nFor this special series\, we’ll follow the journey of wool from fleece to fabric. A sheep farmer will bring a raw fleece directly from their flock\, and together we’ll work through each stage of its transformation. Over several sessions\, we’ll learn to skirt\, wash\, card\, and spin the fibres\, with the chance to experiment along the way. By the end\, we’ll have created our own small pieces of handmade woollen fabric\, part craft\, part conversation – a celebration of this undervalued\, magical material. \n \nNo experience needed\, just curiosity. With Yoga Club – In Present Company.\n\n\nWe will work with the energy of the full moon through meditation\, yin yoga and guided journaling\, calling in everything we want to manifest for the next lunar month and releasing anything we wish to leave behind. \n \nWhat is Yin Yoga \nIn a Yin practice\, we hold each pose for between 1-5 minutes\, allowing the body time and space to open softly. Yin is a practice of yielding\, allowing and nourishing; slowing down and being with sensation. Yin Yoga is simple\, but simple does not mean easy. \n \nWhile a vinyasa practice works with our muscular ‘yang’ structures\, Yin works in a more subtle realm. Accessing the deeper tissues and networks of the body. \n \nThis class is a chance to hold and be held. All levels are welcome. \n \nWhat to bring \nWear the comfiest clothes you have\, pyjamas are welcome (and encouraged). \nBring layers or a blanket to help you feel cocooned. \nA journal or paper & a pen \nAny other special items\, like crystals or treasured things \n \nAll ticket charges will go towards buying eqipment for the class. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the final Wildlife Gardening Club of 2025.\n\n\nFor the final WGC session of the year we’re delighted to be joined by the RSPB and Easy Come\, Easy Grow to help guide us through the construction of our very own bird boxes to take home\, whilst offering up some tips and tricks on urban birding as we go. \nThe Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a UK charity dedicated to conserving birds and nature. It was founded in 1889 and is one of the world’s largest nature conservation charities. The RSPB works to protect habitats\, restore ecosystems\, and save species from extinction through various initiatives and campaigns. \nEasy Come\, Easy Grow are a community organisation based in Newton Heath and part of the Nature Neighbourhoods campaign. From mapping existing and potential green areas to establishing a nature hub at Newton Heath Library to running community conversation events\, they’ll be taking a practical lead on the construction of our bird boxes.  \nThis event is free to attend but booking is recommend.

Spinning\, felting and bookbinding!\n\n\nWavy Wool Club is back on 24th September at Altogether Otherwise. \n \nWavy Wool Club is an open\, free-to-join space that connects farmers and creatives through wool. We gather every other Wednesday at Altogether Otherwise to spin\, felt\, card\, and work with fleece that would otherwise go to waste. It’s a place to relax\, learn new skills\, and share stories about farming\, craft\, and the environment. \n \nFor this special series\, we’ll follow the journey of wool from fleece to fabric. A sheep farmer will bring a raw fleece directly from their flock\, and together we’ll work through each stage of its transformation. Over several sessions\, we’ll learn to skirt\, wash\, card\, and spin the fibres\, with the chance to experiment along the way. By the end\, we’ll have created our own small pieces of handmade woollen fabric\, part craft\, part conversation – a celebration of this undervalued\, magical material. \n \nNo experience needed\, just curiosity. Encouraging you to AIM-LESS and enjoy more.  \nREFRESHINGLY LOW TECH If you can’t fix it\, you don’t own it.
